Ukrainian refugees and those who remained in the country during the conflict need help.

Pandora has donated $1 million to the humanitarian aid organization UNICEF, which will focus its efforts on helping war-affected children in Ukraine.
“We want to help the children of Ukraine and their families in this terrible conflict. They need shelter, water, food, medicine, safe areas and other forms of support to get through the crisis. UNICEF’s work is essential and desperately needed,” Pandora CEO Alexander Lacik said in a press release about the donation.
UNICEF estimates that it will need $66.4 million to meet the needs of some 7.5 million children in Ukraine.
The aim of the organization is to provide access to basic services, including clean water, hygiene products, healthcare, access to education, psychosocial support and aid. financial emergency.
Pandora has been working with UNICEF Denmark since 2019.
“Pandora’s donation is not only timely, but also important,” said Carla Haddad Mardini, director of the division of private fundraising and partnerships at UNICEF.
“When partners like Pandora respond quickly to our humanitarian appeal, it helps us act quickly and deliver assistance to those who need it most. In crises, timing is everything,” she adds.
Kering, the French luxury conglomerate behind brands like Gucci and Boucheron, announced via Instagram on Wednesday that it would also lend a hand.
The company said it would make a “significant donation” to the UNHCRthe United Nations Refugee Agency.
The agency is providing aid to Ukrainians displaced by the conflict, adding that “the situation is set to become the biggest refugee crisis in Europe this century.”
“We hope for a peaceful resolution to this conflict,” Kering said.
Ukraine’s flag is blue and yellow, signifying blue skies above its yellow wheat fields.
The money will go towards relocation and recovery efforts for those affected in Ukraine.
The funds will go to Global Empowerment Missiona non-profit organization that sends first responders to global disasters, and Children’s voiceswhich provides psychological and psychosocial support to children.
Jewelry designer Harwell Godfrey will continue to donate profits from her Malachite Heart Talisman to World Central Cuisinea non-profit organization founded by celebrity chef José Andrés that provides meals to people in need.
The organization is present on the ground on the border between Ukraine and Poland to help deal with the refugee crisis.
The designer’s charity initiative was already in place and has donated a total of $23,338 to WCK at press time.
Godfrey envisioned the pendant as a healing talisman that resembled a pieced broken heart. The choice to use malachite was deliberate, as it is said to be a stone of protection and its green color represents the heart chakra.
“The bail has two bars creating an equal symbol as a gesture of unity that we can achieve when we help each other,” Godfrey said.
The pendant costs $2,500 and is available on the Harwell Godfrey website.
Jewelry designer Marla Aaron will also donate to World Central Kitchen.
Aaron will donate 100% of the proceeds from his silver chair charm to support WCK’s efforts in Ukraine.
The chair charm was first introduced last year as part of the “Take a seat for restaurants” campaign, which benefited struggling restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our goal is to collect as much as possible as quickly as possible,” the company’s website said.
The limited-edition charm costs $250 and is available at Marla Aaron’s website.
Twenty-five percent of the sales of his “Your Heart in My Heart” pieces will be donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross.
The non-profit organization provides immediate relief and recovery, food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and cash assistance to those in need, prioritizing women and girls, families and the elderly.
