Karan Johar launches his own jewelry line

Karan Johar ventures into new lands with his latest move to design jewelry.

Taking to Instagram, the filmmaker shared that he was launching his own brand Tyani Jewelry.

Talking about his vision for his brand, the 49-year-old shared that working in the film industry gave him that creative vision that led him to design jewelry.

“As a filmmaker and someone with a creative vision, I naturally gravitate toward things that are aesthetically beautiful and steeped in our tradition. Additionally, in my work, I also have the benefit of interacting with many different people and I get a strong sense of people’s pulse, whether it’s the movie-going audience or the fashion-forward men and women around the world,” he said.

He added: “I want to see a young woman wearing chaandbalis with a classic black dress or drops with her jeans and t-shirts. Literally from boardroom to brunch to bridal, it has to run the gamut. I wanted to create an online platform dedicated to polki jewelry that could reach people who wanted to shop from the comfort of their own home. It would also make Indian jewelry available worldwide…a young and dynamic brand, on par with global trends and well ahead of the fashion curve. Something that infuses our classic values with an eclectic twist.
