Longtime Hamilton Jewelers manager Jim Silfies is retiring from the jewelry industry

(PRESS RELEASE) PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL — Jim Silfies, who enjoyed a career spanning nearly 50 years in the fine jewelry industry, including 30 with Hamilton Jewelers, is retiring from the business at the end of September.

Jim began his illustrious career in 1972, in Lancaster, PA. He was recruited by his American Legion baseball coach, who was a manager at Kay Jewelers. From baseball field to selling diamonds, Jim quickly became a manager at Kay’s in Cornwell Heights, Pennsylvania. He managed the store for a year before accepting a position with JE Caldwell as Merchandise Coordinator. JE Caldwell promoted Silfies in 1976 to store manager in Harrisburg, PA. He moved with the company until 1992, moving from Pennsylvania to the Wilmington, Delaware Dupont Hotel in Washington, DC on Connecticut Avenue, where he was operations manager. He ended his career at JE Caldwell overseeing two stores in King of Prussia, PA.

After Jim’s track record of success in the industry, a colleague of his tipped him off to an opportunity with Hamilton Jewelers. In 1992 he interviewed Martin and Hank Siegel and accepted a role in Princeton, New Jersey as a store manager. He was promoted to Regional Manager of Hamilton’s two Florida stores in Palm Beach County in 1994 and led the region through 2021, assisting countless customers and mentoring countless members of the Hamilton team in progress. of road.

During his 30 year career with Hamilton, Jim has mentored hundreds of employees, represented Hamilton in the industry and community, built wonderful relationships with customers and helped sell millions of dollars in jewelry and quality watches.
