She made light work of her second-round opponent during their match at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday morning. The 11th-ranked superstar beat Serbian Nina Stojanović in an impressive 6-3, 6-0 performance – and she did it in just an hour and nine minutes.

Williams, 39, appears to be in vintage form as she tears up her first Grand Slam of the year. Although she has already won the Australian Open seven times in her esteemed career, Williams is chasing something much bigger this time around. With her eighth tournament win, she would secure her 24th career Grand Slam title and tie the great Margaret Court for most of all time.

Anastasia Potapova is the next roadblock on Serena’s road to history. She will face the 19-year-old Russian in a third-round encounter on Thursday.
